The UK Government introduced the UK Global Mobility Visa aimed at giving overseas businesses new ways to bring employees to the United Kingdom. The UK Expansion Worker visa is for workers of foreign based Companies who wish to come to the UK for a Work Placement which forms part of a training course. In another word, The UK Expansion Worker route has been introduced as a way for overseas employees who are bearing temporary work tasks in the UK as part of a business ’ expansion to the UK.

Any business requiring to make use of this route will need to specifically apply to become a licensed sponsor in the Expansion Worker route. Alternatively, where the organization formerly holds a GBM license in other categories, they will need to apply to add this league to their existing license before they’re capable of using it.

You must be suitable to satisfy the following requirements

  • You have been employed by your Company for a minimal period of 12 months or are a high earner earning£,900 per year
  • You must be 18 years old
  • Your job is listed on the eligible job list
  • Your UK job must pay you a minimum of£,400 and the ‘ going rate ’
  • Presently employed by a Business who’s linked to a UK Company by way of common ownership or by joint venture

The Organization must demonstrate to the Home Office that it isn’t actively trading in the UK. Still, it must be suitable to demonstrate that it has a UK ‘ footmark ’. This can be demonstrated in a number of ways, including that the Company has UK business premises or that they’ve registered their UK company with Companies House. Businesses can finance a maximum of five workers in this route at any one time. This allows businesses to send teams to apply their expansion into the UK. On the other hand, the fact that the rules now permit businesses to dispatch “ teams ” to the UK to implement their expansion plans is likely to prove a welcome development for multinational organizations looking to achieve maximum success when setting up in the UK.
